Voicebox Karaoke is known to its fans as the best karaoke experience in Portland, and possibly this side of the Atlantic. With six private suites, ever-expanding saké & food menus and peerless, custom karaoke software (!), it’s hard to beat a night here. But Voicebox is more than the premier karaoke lounge—it strives to be the best gathering place in the city.
Enter Switchyard. We immersed ourselves in every aspect of Voicebox’s brand from the onset, constantly putting our knowledge to work: from curated online karaoke playlists to video contest promotion posters, from real-time song charts to simple reservation and song requests, from menus to trade show floors (collaborating with the uber-talented Andy Powell Studio), we’ve infused every pixel with the vision of Voicebox founder Scott Simon: all karaoke is not created equal.
We designed and built the website to be nothing short of industry-best. And while we came into the project with admittedly suspect karaoke backgrounds and only one bona fide lead singer on the team, we dove into the business and the industry to guide our work and come up with some creative solutions.
A few highlights:
- An interactive playlist builder
- A live feed of top songs, recent plays and latest additions
- An up-to-the-second songbook search
- A clean, clear song request form
And as we continue working with the brilliant minds at Voicebox, we set our sights on building out mobile tools like the amazing Voicebox innovation VB Songs, which is designed for your smart phone and allows you to control your in-suite song queue. (Check it out on your own smart phone at www.vbsongs.com.)
Print and Signage
As Voicebox connects with fans and karaoke newcomers around Portland and the Northwest (we’ve made friends from Tokyo to New York), the brand has expanded into print advertisements in our local weeklies, posters promoting the Annual Video Contest, and new signage for the door, street, menu and other on-site spaces. With an identity, management and staff as compelling as Voicebox boasts, it’s no surprise they continue to grow and make new friends.
